A sweet, 5 hour drive and I'm back at college =/ went back home to Nashville for the weekend to attend THE BEST CON EVER: Middle Tennessee Anime Con. First off, go to this con if you can next year, it is one of the best cons out there!

Anyway, this was my second MTAC, first was last year which also was my first con ever. Got down Friday night at 10ish and dropped in on my parents The Voice Actor guests were Johny Yong Bosch, voice of Ichigo, Vash the Stampede, Rent and the Black and Green Power Ranger for a number of seasons after the first Mighty Morphin Black Ranger, and Greg Ayres, who did Negi of Mahou Sensei Negima, Kaworu in the Director's Cut of Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as Bido (Lizard Chimera) of FMA. Both were awesome, I got there near the ending of the Voice Actors Q&A (everybody wanted Johny to do "its MORHIN TIME!" and "Love and PEACE!" lol), but got to see Greg at the Fansubbing, Downloading, the Industry and You panel and Eyeshine was playing so got to meet Johny at their Q&A and a number of other times. Greg also DJ'd the EPICLY AWESOME RAVE Saturday night/Sunday morning, which was awesome even after some hick-ups, Metro police had shown up and made anyone under 18 without a Guardian go home, Nashville Curfew apparently. But got carded and went in that night, but then WE had a curfew of 3am, so after everything was an hour behind and the rave started at 1am it was still rockin', and I'm still sore from it all. Eyeshine played at 11pm and were awesome, a little freaked out too that a lot of us knew lyrics to some of their songs and were singing them (Myspace...)

But Saturday was awesome, this year's theme was KAIJU, so the guys from Kaiju Big Battel came down and I caught their press conference. I've only seen clips of the show but Louden Noxious and Beav were hilarious, thanks to having to clean up after the Ramen Eating Contest, it was an hour late and everything got off set from there. Before that I was at Greg Ayres' panel Fansubbing, Downloading, the Industry and You! which just really hit me hard and made me hate myself (deserves its own journal). And immediately after I went to the dealer room and bought something I've been meaning to for EVER, the platinum edition of Neon Genesis Evangelion After the press conference was the cosplay stuff but I don't like sitting for 3 hours after waiting in line for 4, so I chilled decide to wait in the autograph line for Greg. I really didn't recognize any of the stuff the program said he was in but I wanted to talk to him about his panel so I decided to jump in. I was last and got to talk to him a little longer than the earlier people but he is the coolest guy and a real anime fan. Found out that he was Bido from FMA, who I actually though was one of the coolest characters, despite the 20 minutes of time in the whole anime. I brought up the panel and said I got Eva and found he did that so he signed the Dvd cover that had his character on it i was fanboying pretty hard now soo.. yeah.

After the Rave I got home at like 3:30 so I slept in and got to the con about 1ish, was pretty calm and nice. Johny Yong Bosch was doing a showing and commentary of film he did called "Broken Path" it was a rough and we fast forwarded to all the fight scenes but it looks really cool, suppose to be out in September, so go check it out, its got the feel of the older Hong Kong action films. After that was Closing Ceremonies, and at the end of it they gave out free stuff! They had 3 6'x2' life sized poster of Minmay from Macross, said they were going to give it to the biggest Minmay fans, so I jumped up on my seat in the middle and started flailing around screaming with a 15 inch glow stick from the Rave, now I'm 6'5" and am on a chair screaming... and I didn't get one... Should have just plowed out and up to the stage lol but there was like 400 people in this small ball room so I couldnt move =/ and that was my only downside the entire weekend TT__TT damn IT I WANTED THAT POSTER!!! And now I'm gonna blow money on it...

Anyway the con was awesome! Buy more anime! And go to MTAC next year the theme will be Baddassery with SWORDS! MTAC: Ninja 2009!
